Who is eligible?

Maccabi members of all ages with psychological diagnoses seeking professional care to improve mental well-being.

What does Maccabi provide?

Psychological and psychotherapeutic care tailored to defined treatment goals and clinical criteria, subject to approval from the district mental health director. Treatment is subject to an existing mental health diagnosis.

How much does it cost?

Psychotherapy is provided free of charge at mental health clinics staffed by diverse professional teams:

All Maccabi members are eligible for free psychological treatment at mental health clinics, subject to meeting specified criteria outlined in the eligibility conditions.

Treatments are provided by psychologists in Maccabi's multi-professional mental health clinics and in public mental health clinics affiliated with Maccabi. Maccabi members have the right to choose their preferred treatment location:

Psychotherapy with affiliated therapists, for traumatic stress victims of Swords of Iron war-related events

Reimbursement for traumatic stress victims of Swords of Iron war-related events:

    • According to the Ministry of Health's guidelines, individuals experiencing traumatic stress due to exposure to a specific event related to the Swords of Iron War are entitled to a series of 12 mental health appointments (including intake). An additional 12 treatments are possible at the therapist's discretion
    • You can submit a request for one or more therapy sessions in a single receipt and receive a refund for the deductible
    • Reimbursable treatments for traumatic stress include individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy
    • To assess eligibility for reimbursement, submit your request to Maccabi via the mobile app, Maccabi Online, or directly at the medical center office:
  1. Provide an appointment summary from the therapist for each session for which reimbursement is sought.
  2. Submit a tax invoice/receipt for payment of the deductible, specifying the treatment dates and types provided under the guidelines.

    • The session format (in-person or online) will be decided by the therapist, considering the patient's preferences
    • Sessions will be documented in the patient's medical record. Only mental health therapists at Maccabi have access to the medical file contents
    • Changing therapists requires restarting the process, including obtaining a new diagnosis
    • Treatment is provided by qualified psychotherapists, including specialized clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers with a master's degree, who are psychotherapy program graduates.
