Submitting a request to an online doctor

How often can you send requests to your doctor?

You can submit online requests to the doctor on medical matters. Each request can include several topics together (for example - a prescription request, a request for a sick leave certificate, a question for the doctor) - all within the framework of a single request.

The number of requests that can be submitted each quarter is limited and varies by population type:

      • Up to 4 requests per quarter: All Maccabi members

      • Up to 5 requests per quarter: Maccabi members over the age of 70

      • Up to 8 requests per quarter:
        - Members from an evacuated community
        - Patients with a serious illness
        - Children with somatic disabilities
        - Children with somatic disabilities + children diagnosed with autism
        - Members with hearing disabilities
        - Children of parents with hearing adaptation needs
        - Members treated in the home care unit
        - Members who are candidates for treatment in the home care unit
        - Members receiving supportive care within the home care unit
        - Those on respiratory support

Which doctors can receive requests?

      • Family doctors and pediatricians - You can submit a digital application to family doctors and pediatricians, or to the team of doctors in their joint clinic, only if you have visited the doctor in the last 18 months.
      • Gynecologists - You can submit a digital request to the last gynecologist you visited in the past year.
Minors between the ages of 16 and 18 can also submit a digital request to a gynecologist. Parents/guardians may also view what minors in their care send the doctor, in accordance with the law.

You can contact these doctors only if they have enrolled in the Online request-filing service.

If you visited another family doctor besides your regular one, you may also send them an online request within 3 months of the visit date.

When can you expect a response from your doctor?

      • Family doctors and pediatricians - response within 5 working days
      • Gynecologists - a typical response timeframe is within 10 working days.

The service is not intended for urgent situations. If you require urgent medical attention, please contact the relevant treatment providers, and if necessary, urgent care centers.

It is at the doctor’s discretion how to respond to each request, based on their medical judgment. Doctors may provide a full or partial response, decline the request, request that you visit the clinic, or offer recommendations on how to proceed. If the doctor's response includes explanations or recommendations, please read them carefully and follow accordingly.
